QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidate will be responsible for software development in the Java language and for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development testing operational integration and user support. This is an on-site position.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

Responsible for software development using Java Design, code, test and implement tools for automation Maintain, debug, and configure related software products Work from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs Work on most phases of software systems programming applications Interface with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the overall efficiency of the operating system

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field from an accredited college with at least 5 years of experience Security+ certification or equivalent required within 60 days of start

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Software engineering and software development with Java/JEE experience Experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as coding standards and configuration management Experience developing enterprise applications Familiarity with Java foundation classes and toolkits Knowledge of server side/database development and computer system administration Experience working as part of an Agile team Use of common software development and management tools such as gitLab, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven or Gradle, and Eclipse Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams Applicant should have good working knowledge of MS Office products Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root cause, recommend and develop a solution Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking Command and control system application development Automated test and pipeline development experience Test driven development Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms Experience with Software Integration testing including developing automated test scrips Experience with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify/SonarQube mitigation Strong problem-solving skills including reviewing performance issues, identifying root causes, and recommending and developing solutions

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.

Salary Range

$120,000 - $183,000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual cont ibutions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
