Department Information

The University makes available a broad array of credit and non-credit courses, seminars, and workshops through the Division of Extended Studies. Some programs are offered on campus and others at off-campus sites including in Colorado Springs, at Fort Carson, in Douglas County, in Huerfano County, and at public high schools throughout the state of Colorado, and more.

The Division of Extended Studies (ES) provides courses to full-time, part-time, and non- traditional students. Many educational methods - classroom instruction, correspondence courses, online courses, conferences, workshops, and seminars - are utilized to expand educational access and meet the needs of students at convenient times and settings. Students may earn academic credit toward a degree, study for career advancement, or pursue cultural and avocational interests.

Description of Job

The Satellite Campus Manager is a full-time administrative professional position that is responsible for providing leadership for the comprehensive management of the university’s satellite campuses, which includes oversight of programs, program growth and recruitment; management of staff, student services and support, faculty approvals and scheduling, campus innovation, and marketing. Extended Studies currently manages five satellite campuses in Colorado Springs, Fort Carson, Castle Rock, Walsenburg, and Pueblo with goals of continued expansion. The manager is also responsible for coordinating with other Extended Studies programs to ensure new growth opportunities are sought to ensure student success. The primary office for this position is at the CSU Pueblo at Pikes Peak location, but frequent travel to each location is also required.

Primary Duties:

Site and Staff Management

  • Oversees and administers all standard operating procedures and operational staffing for all satellite campus locations. Ensures staff and faculty availability for class schedules and office needs at each location.

  • Leads, develops, and manages all satellite campus staff, including student workers and contractors and coordinates synergy across a team that resides at multiple locations throughout the state.

  • Maintains enrollment data and sets enrollment targets by program by location and delivers reports on both enrollment and budgets to the division to ensure decision making is data driven.

  • Develops and maintains campus reports to deliver to all partners to highlight the updates, initiatives, and opportunities for growth and process improvement by location.

  • Facilitates the recruitment, approval and assignment of faculty course schedules by location with department chairs and deans. Supports effective onboarding of new instructors, providing classroom support, supporting faculty requests, and providing feedback on student evaluations.

  • Maintains and supports all requirements for the MOU and facilities use agreements per location, supports the timely updates of all documents to prevent expiration, and coordinates all requisitions and rent payments by location.

Student Services Support

  • Serves as the office liaison with satellite campus colleagues to facilitate student support needs (both academic and non-academic) as needed from the satellite campus partner perspective.

  • Oversees student enrollment support services at each satellite location including admissions, enrollment, transfer, advising and graduation for students seeking to attend CSU Pueblo. Develops processes and procedures to facilitate seamless admission and transfer to the university.

  • Develops partnerships with the campuses in which we co-locate and with main campus partners to develop and streamline student support services including but not limited to TRIO, tutoring, counseling and student health, military and veteran support, disability resources, and career services.

Innovation and Marketing

  • Leads and coordinates staff participation in educational fairs, professional associations, community outreach activities, and other outreach ideas designed to generate enrollment for satellite locations and main campus. Partners with admissions, advising, and outreach teams from our co-located campuses to ensure coordination in outreach efforts for transfer opportunities.

  • Leads the coordination of marketing efforts with our partners at each location and the Extended Studies marketing specialist to develop a marketing strategy for each location. This includes the creation of materials at each location including but not limited to rack cards, digital advertising opportunities, website updates and maintenance, and other promotional publications.

  • Regularly assesses market driven educational needs and responds appropriately with modifications to program and course offerings through coordination with the Dean of Extended Studies and academic Deans.

  • Coordinates opportunities for growth and expansion of new satellite locations and new programs for adult learners, including military and community driven academic programs.

Partnership Development and Outreach

  • Actively participates in cultivating partnerships across the Colorado Community College System to facilitate student services, transfer opportunities, streamlined academic offerings, and co-branded marketing, among other partnership opportunities.

  • Seeks community partnerships in each county in which satellite campuses exist to find industry partnerships, PLA opportunities, internship opportunities, and new recruitment pipelines for programs at each campus. Actively participates in Chamber of Commerce memberships to help develop partnership opportunities.

  • Utilizes partnership opportunities to develop new program opportunities at the various satellite campuses.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in writing

  • Supervisory experience

  • Experience in higher education

  • Experience or commitment to working in a diverse workplace and serving a diverse population

  • Experience in a position or activity that required:

• effective verbal communication skills

• project management skills

• the ability to manage complex staffing schedules across multiple operating locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of regional accreditation and higher education regulatory practices

  • Experience coordinating or leading an academic program

  • Demonstrated work experience in admissions, student advising and/or financial aid
