Department Summary:
The Warfighter Space Services Department (N114) is dedicated to providing innovative products and services to empower the United States Space Force (USSF) with effective and resilient warfighting capabilities, enabling them to counter threats and assert dominance in the Space domain. Our work portfolio caters to a variety of missions, with a particular emphasis on resilient Satellite Communications and PNT (positioning, navigation, and timing). We employ top-tier systems engineering, Communications, PNT, and space cyber subject matter experts (SMEs) to assist our sponsors in addressing the nation's current and future Space challenges. Our key areas of focus include satellite communications, satellite navigation, modeling and simulation, systems integration, systems engineering, and software development.
Job Description:
You will utilize your knowledge of RF communications, RF analog hardware, antenna systems, and RF propagation, among other similar technical disciplines, to contribute to a diverse range of projects. These projects will be tailored to align with your development goals and the needs of our sponsors. This position may also require you to work independently within a team setting, where you will analyze advanced satcom and PNT concepts and address complex problem sets. Upon successful execution of your responsibilities, your contributions will include:
Providing technical expertise to the Department's projects within a collaborative team environment
Designing, assembling, testing, and debugging custom analog, digital, and RF electronics
Supporting field test events
Conducting trade studies, modeling and simulation, and other forms of analysis
Basic Qualifications:
Possess a keen interest in acquiring new skills and exploring emerging technologies
Typically requires less than 1 year of related experience with a related Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or similar fields, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Strong interest in technical disciplines such as wireless communications, RF/analog hardware, antenna design, digital signal processing (DSP), and networking
Possess effective interpersonal skills, enabling you to work efficiently within multidisciplinary teams across various organizations
Experience with software development methods and object-oriented programming, including proficiency in a modern programming language such as C/C++, Python, Java, or JavaScript
U.S. citizen with the capability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of satellite communications and/or satellite navigation systems
Experience using laboratory instrumentation (e.g. spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signal & waveform generators) in an academic or commercial environment
Experience working with software defined radios (SDR) and DSP
Experience with designing, testing, and/or prototyping RF and communications equipment
Ability to possess/maintain a Top Secret clearance

$81,000 - $101,000 - $121,000 Annual
