Job Overview

Performs high quality pediatric diagnostic imaging procedures. Provides conscientious patient care while adhering to all quality and safety standards defined by the organization. Performs administrative duties including but not limited to scheduling appointments, patient instructions, and maintenance of records. This position is responsible for communicating regularly with patients, families, and all hospital and community caregivers while following department expectations for interactions with patients and families. This position is required to be on call depending on the position's location.

Department: Briargate Radiology Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits Shift: Monday-Friday,8a-415p; Call and Holidays required. *Pay range is $26.60/hr to $36.34. Candidates will be offered within this range based on their years of experience. This position is eligible for relocation assistance, if relocating from 100 miles or greater

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited Radiology program CERTIFICATION(S): American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT(R) American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider

Responsibilities

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE Neonate- 30 days to 1 yr Toddlers- > 1 yr to 3 yrs Pre-schoolers- > 3 yrs to 5 yrs School age-> 5yrs to 13 yrs Adolescent- >13 yrs to 18 yrs Adult- >18 yrs to 65 yrs ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Produces high quality radiographic images, both fixed and portable, while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology. Facilitates patient flow daily; to include management of STAT/urgent and high priority patients. Provides age-appropriate care and appropriately prepares patients for procedures. Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure and care to patients, families, coworkers, and others. Operates all Diagnostic imaging equipment; to include ancillary equipment following safety procedures and protocols. Utilizes principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) and ensures proper radiation safety practices. Maintains required compe ency in dose reduction techniques and the Image Gently Campaign. Demonstrates and maintains competency and ability to use all aspects of Radiology Information System (RIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) as it pertains to modality specific functions and use. In the event of an emergency will act as first responder and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) until help arrives. Verifies patient allergies and clinical indications prior to contrast administration. Safely administers contrast using the five rights. Ensures contrast is appropriately ordered and documented in patients' medical record.
