Description:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Work with other members of the quality team to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the plant in order to

maximize operational efficiency in an environment of continuous improvement to provide timely and

accurate process control information to ensure that all testing equipment is operating properly and to

certify the completed product meets intended specifications.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Provide process control and product certification results by operating laboratory analytical and physical test equipment.

  • Calibrate and ensure that process testing equipment is operating within designated parameters.

  • Report information using computer data management systems.

  • Maintain and repair as needed, all laboratory testing and processing equipment.

  • Assist Control Room as needed.

  • Certify results of all lab findings.

  • Maintain equipment list and is responsible for maintaining CCRL compliance for equipment, testing room environment and calibrations

  • Responsible for ensuring all equipment is calibrated and monitored.

  • Lead annual evaluation and lab training of lab technicians to understand testing, cement specifications and be quality conscious.

  • Able to perform and complete ASTM chemical and physical test on daily composites and CCRL proficiency samples.

  • Investigate and document product investigations or concerns.

  • Lead competitor testing program and documentation.

  • Fill in for other lab technicians in emergency situations or when vacation coverage is not available.

  • Results/Accountabilities:

  • Have a thorough understanding of the chemistry of raw materials and products to understand how elements and chemical changes will affect the production process.

  • Possess analytical and process control testing equipment knowledge and operating expertise.

  • Possess the skills and ability to troubleshoot test equipment.

  • Internal controls providing reasonable assurance of effective and efficient operations, including actions to prevent and detect fraud and protect Company resources

  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: Associates Degree OR 3 years of similar experience

Field of Study Preferred: Science or Comparable Industry

Required Work Experience: 1-3 years

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment (“PPE”), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
