Job Summary: Are you a passionate and dedicated public health professional looking to make a meaningful impact on reproductive health and disease prevention? Join our team as a Public Health Nurse II in a grant-funded position, where you'll play a pivotal role in providing clinical services and educational support within our Reproductive Health Clinic (RHC) and the Criminal Justice Center (CJC). You'll have the opportunity to develop and refine protocols for comprehensive STI screening, administer intervention services, and offer vital support to clients in need. Collaborating closely with medical staff and community partners, you'll ensure seamless screening and treatment, while also spearheading educational initiatives to promote awareness and prevention. Performs clinical public health nursing services in Reproductive Health Clinic (RHC) and the Criminal Justice Center (CJC). Provides testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STI), as well providing education to clients on STIs and working to coordinate follow up care and treatment upon release from the CJC. Administrative tasks include grant required data tracking, quality improvement during grant period, review and change of protocols and procedures as needed, developing and presenting community educational materials, communication and collaboration with CJC medical staff andconsultation with RHC team members. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Develops and refines protocols for comprehensive STI screening at the CJC. Evaluates clients to determine if they meet the testing eligibility criteria. Administers indicated intervention services at a minimum of three days a week. This includes testing and treatment of indicated infection(s). Offers confirmatory testing for reactive rapid test clients. Offers pregnancy testing to clients of reproductive age who test positive for syphilis. Develops and maintains a staff training plan for STI testing. Creates and distributes educational materials. Collaborates with CJC medical staff and El Paso County Public Health (EPCPH) Clinic staff in screening and treatment of indicated population. Utilizes existing and creates new community connections and referrals for follow up care and services. Evaluates patients for additional support services. Completes a quality improvement plan for Colorado Department of Public Health (CDPHE). Completes and submits monthly narrative reports for Colorado Department of Public Health (CDPHE). Attends scheduled Colorado Department of Public Health (CDPHE) contract monitoring calls. Collects demographic information and completes client-level data REDCap survey forms. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of company policies and procedures. Skill in prioritizing and organizing multiple tasks and the ability to complete projects in a timely manner. Skill in training and presentation. Skill in using a personal computer and various software packages including Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate, motivate, and organize projects among a broad spectrum of personnel, frequently underdeadline pressure. Ability to respond in a flexible manner and reprioritize work as situations change. Ability to demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns. Ability to identify problems and work creatively to develop resolutions and recommend corrective actions tosupervisor, considering the impact of actions on Public Health. Ability to identify results of efforts and problems identified/potential problems and to develop and recommend corrective actions to supervisor. Ability to write and maintain accurate records and reports to meet management objectives. Ability to maintain the security of sensitive and confidential information. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to perform under pressure and when confronted with persons acting under stress.
