SAIC Network Administrator in COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado
Description
SAIC is seeking a Tier II Network Administrator to support the NORAD and NORTHCOM network enterprise solution. Knowledge and understanding of a broad design of communications systems, design specifications, installation, operations and maintenance is required. This position will help plan and implement upgrades, harden the digital environment, and operate and maintain a dispersed network across the north American continent.
The Network Administrator responsibilities will be to ensure the daily operation and maintenance of a dispersed network that provides services from the user distribution layer through a dispersed core. A firm understanding of routing and switching technologies along with security implementation and best practices will be used daily.
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma is required and 5 + years of experience with at least 3 years of experience in Network Administration or similar field.
Candidate must be familiar with Cisco IOS, IP routing protocols, long haul communication transport, network test equipment and NSA type 1 encryption devices.
CCNA or Juniper Certification.
Must have a current Security+ required by DoD 8570 / 8140.
Must have a current SECRET clearance and be eligible for TS.
Must have solid technical skills and experience with a variety of network protocols, software, and hardware involved in LAN and WAN operations.
Requires strong troubleshooting, analytic and diagnostic skills, along with good communication abilities.
Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience (CAT5, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP).
Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLAN’s, Port Security, Thin Configs).
Knowledge of Cisco IOS, Juniper JUNOS, Brocade and Foundry OS.
Requires comprehensive knowledge of Inline Network Encrypting technologies.
Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience dealing with military and government customers.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education.
TS/SCI clearance.
Cisco classes or certification(s), familiarity with IP Multicast, Fiber Optic and Copper Cabling Standards, DoD cryptographic equipment (e.g. TACLANE) is a plus.
Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model.
CCNP or equivalent Juniper Certification.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
