Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Data Scientist. In this role you will support the Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Acquisition Delta. The Delta's mission is to modernize and sustain missile warning, missile defense, space domain awareness, and command and control systems to protect the Homeland and the United States' allies. As a member of the Chief Information Officer's staff, the Data Scientist models complex business problems, and discovers business insights through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. The Data Scientist contributes to building and developing the organization's data infrastructure and supports senior leadership with insights, management reports, and analysis for decision-making at the Delta, Program Executive Officer, and Space Systems Command level. This is a full-time hybrid role at Peterson SFB, in Colorado Springs, CO with telework capabilities.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: Data Science Application: Apply data science to develop novel metrics and analyses for decision-making in business and engineering. Data Analytics Translation: Transform enterprise architecture data into analytics to support executive decisions and workflows. Insight Generation: Extract and leverage trends from data to inform business strategies and leadership. Experimental Analytics: Use experimentation to reveal complex relationships in large datasets. Advanced Technique Development: Implement state-of-the-art techniques in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Data Visualization: Craft engaging, visual reports that effectively communicate analytical results. Product Advisement: Offer data-driven guidance on new product features and updates. Unstructured Data Frameworks: Create processes for analyzing unstructured data from various sources. Best Practices and Consultation: Provide expert advice and distribute best practices across teams. Data Management and Engineering: Ensure data cleanliness and organization across different formats. Data Pipeline Maintenance: Establish and maintain data pipelines using cutting-edge technologies. Machine Learning Optimization: Continuously refine machine learning models for better performance. Generative AI Integration: Guide the adoption of generative AI to drive innovation and improve processes. Solution Tailoring and Customer Empowerment: Equip the interface with capabilities that allow customers to explore and visualize data-driven insights, simulate potential business scenarios, and generate bespoke This empowers users to leverage data science in making informed decisions and fosters innovation by showcasing the art of the possible through practical applications.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen Clearance: Must have the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance Education: High School Diploma Years of Experience: 5 years of relevant experience

Preferred Experience: Clearance: Active Top Secret level clearance Certification: Certificate in Data Science or modeling and simulation or statistics - highly preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree Additional Experience: 5 years' experience with Python - highly preferred Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning application/uses - highly preferred Experience or education with Statistical modeling through programming language (e.g. Python) - highly preferred Experience with robust data cleaning and data engineering - highly preferred Understanding of large language models and generative AI Experience with statistical analysis and/or modeling and simulation
