Department Summary:

The N112 Special Projects Department works as trusted advisors with its government sponsors across space warfighting, acquisition, and other mission partners as they architect system integration efforts to successfully incorporate new technologies and software applications in support of a resilient space enterprise infrastructure, sensing, and an integrated C2 system.

Additionally, N112 performs numerous sensing experiments and prototyping activities including class-leading modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities designed to enable MITRE and sponsor-driven analysis and research in all space mission domains across multiple customers, missions, and technology providers. The research, development, and outcomes of these efforts provide high-quality, comprehensive, quantitative insights for senior government decision makers shaping the future of our nation’s Space policy, operations, and systems.

Job Responsibilities:

The technical work areas you will apply your skills to include:

  • Perform engineering duties in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment interacting with technical team members from multiple organizations while completing tasks on projects that solve crucial challenges faced by decision-makers.

  • Develop state of the art prototypes using Software Defined Radios to process signals of interest

  • Maintain systems and documentation as needed for development and ongoing operations

  • Duties will be performed while collocated with sponsor in Colorado Springs, CO

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

  • Top Secret clearance

  • Experience using software languages such as Java, Python, MATLAB, C, or C++

  • Experience with analyzing signals and communication technologies

  • Self-starter capable of working in a dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks, drive projects to closure, and assimilate and correlate project information in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to reach out to technical experts

  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills

  • Strong motivation to expand knowledge and skills

  • This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applied experience with Agile and Scaled Agile Framework practices

  • Experience using software tools such as GitLab, Jira, Confluence, and Artifactory

  • Understanding of SATCOM protocols, systems, and standards

  • Experience in cross-platform, multiple environment development

  • Skilled working with Docker containers

  • Ability to characterize Radio Frequency signal paths

  • Experience developing in an environment running the Linux Operating System

  • Prior experience with Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community, or Space customers and/or companies.

Salary compensation range and midpoint:

$88,500 - $110,500 - $132,500 Annual
