Job Overview

The Clinical Assistant (CA) assists patients and families by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs. The CA provides comfort, transportation, and vital sign monitoring. In addition, the CA supports and assists nursing personnel and other providers in diagnostic procedures and technical treatments and functions as a member of the healthcare team.

Department Name: CSH NICU Job Status: 36 hours/week Shift: Day shift. 0700-1930, 3 days a weekend. Holidays and weekends per unit policy.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent is required.

CERTIFICATION(S) -

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider by the American HeartAssociation is required. Designation as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), and/or Emergency MedicalTechnician (EMT) is required.

LICENSURE - Current Colorado state CNA license or Current Colorado state Emergency Medical Technician- Basic or A-EMT or EMT-Intermediate Proof of successful completion of health assessment and nursing foundation courses, in addition tobasic medical/surgical clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program may be considered in lieu ofdesignation as a CNA, MA and/or EMT.
