Summary Description: The Butler Center is an identity-based student center that is committed to the cultivation of an antiracist campus through education, advocacy and celebration. Key support and outreach happens through community building, identity development, dialogue, educational workshops and one-on-one peer mentoring.

The Administrative and Program Specialist within the Butler Center plays a key role supporting equity and sense of belonging on campus while performing programmatic and administrative duties including maintaining the office and student center and maintaining budgetary records. They will supervise student employees and implement campus-wide heritage month and identity-based events.

Anticipated Salary Range: $20.44 to $24.31 per hour

Responsibilities:

Serve as managing receptionist for a fast-paced and intensely active student center, including opening the main office daily, greeting visitors, answering phone and email messages, and providing information about the department and the college to students, staff, faculty and visitors. Serve as caretaker for the physical presentation of TBC main office, student lounge, and Queer and Trans Collective Gathering Space; oversee housekeeping, coordinate projects, purchasing of supplies, place work orders with Facilities Services, and ensure proper maintenance. Assist the director with managing departmental budget, monitoring spending, purchasing office supplies/furniture, serve as proxy for director's p-card reconciliations. Provide general administrative support to TBC professional staff. Including working with vendors, coordinating room reservations and catering plans; oversee planning of TBC open houses, events, annual awards banquet and ceremonies. Conduct hiring process for all TBC student employees. Provide supervision and mentorship to Student Office Coodinator, train student employees to conduct administrative responsibilities, fulfill programmatic goals, and support Colorado College's Anti-Racism Implementation Plan through ongoing learning and development. Oversee Identity and Cultural Programs within the Butler Center including supervision and mentorship of Identity and Cultural Programming interns, coordination of large-scale heritage and identity-based events. Facilitate onboarding of professional staff and student employees at the Butler Center; ensure onboarding checklist is completed within the first two weeks of hire; provide training for website development, ITS systems, department budgeting and reconciliation, calendar management, and events management; instruct incoming supervisors on student employee management and pr Coordinate the department's communications for internal and external artners, including management of TBC's social media accounts, blockly newsletters and website.

Additional Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent experience plus a minimum of four years related experience; proficient with software programs such as Microsoft Office Suites, social media, ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, laser printer, copy machine, telephone, calculator, fax machine; excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail; proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and basic business math; good judgement and ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion; ability to develop positive working relationships and communicate with diverse populations and from different cultural backgrounds; excellent organizational and customer service skills; ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, supervisory experience; related experience in higher education.
