About the Program
The Sri Lanka Support Unit manages part of Australia’s aid program in Sri Lanka and provides strategic and technical advisory services to the Australian High Commission (AHC), along with administrative support. In doing this SLSU implements and coordinates the monitoring and evaluation of SLSU-managed investments.
SLSU Goal: Investments in priority areas as agreed by the Sri Lankan Government and Australian Government are efficient, effective and equitable.
SLSU Objective: To provide flexible, high quality and responsive support to the Australian Government’s bilateral development program in Sri Lanka contributing to mutually agreed development priorities.
SLSU’s End of Facility Outcomes are:

Efficient and equitable platform management
About the Opportunity
Anticipated skills activities will be added under SLSU management, to support future TVET/skills initiatives as a key development initiative under DFAT’s new Development Partnership Plan (DPP) to work towards a more capable, skilled, and qualified MSME workforce and expanded support network in Sri Lanka.
The Skills Lead will be responsible for the operational and technical management of the anticipated skills activities.
Working closely with the SLSU Team Leader, the Australian High Commission, program staff and other stakeholders, this role will support the implementation of Australia's skills activities in Sri Lanka.
About You
We are seeking an individual who will bring:
Extensive experience in TVET or an adjacent technical area required minimum of seven years
Relevant tertiary qualifications in International Development or Economic or TVET will be well regarded.
Demonstrated experience in identifying and facilitating support requirements to address constraints on programs, including leading the development and implementation of program annual plans.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to develop a team of professionals and experience in coaching and mentoring staff.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven experience in developing and maintaining relationships with local organisations, partners, government officials, donor representatives and other key stakeholders.
Excellent analytical and writing skills including the preparation of reports, briefs and policy analysis for a government and key stakeholder audiences.
Excellent English language skills, with fluency in either Tamil or Sinhala language essential. Trilingual applicants will be highly regarded. Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of autonomy and self-direction, innovation, adaptability, flexibility, and resilience to accommodate change in a complex, uncertain, high-energy environment.
