This large system is supported by over 1400 Advance Practice Clinicians which consist of APRNs (NPs, CRNAs, CNM, and CRNAs) and Physician Assistants.

Responsibilities

The Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) provides direct patient care in a primary care clinic. The clinic provides community based primary care seeing patients across the life span from newborn to geriatrics. The APC will function in concert with the medical director in a multi-disciplinary collaborative team environment and be able to function independently. Family focus will include express care/same day appointments; annual wellness evaluations, sports physicals, and chronic disease management. Occupational medicine role encompasses workers compensation evaluations, DOT certification examinations (new certifications and re-certifications), Pre-employment physical examinations and immunizations.

The Advanced Practice Clinician will need to feel comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and to perform suturing when required.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • Graduation from an approved Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

  • Active and unencumbered Texas License

  • National Board Certification

  • Active BLS

  • Must have DOT Certification prior to start date

Experience

  • 1 - 2 years experience in Family Practice or Urgent Care environment required

  • Experience with worker's comp and occupational medicine, preferred

Pay Range

$52.32 - $70.84 /hour
