The Salvation Army Temporary Human Resources Specialist in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize and operate the Human Resources Department of the RJKCCC in such a way that required work is processed in a prompt and professional manner.

  • Ongoing oversight of all payroll needs, including communication, documenting, verifying and inspection for accuracy all elements of payroll -such as timecards, vacation/sick time submissions, holiday hours, payroll register, unauthorized/error punches, time exceptions.

  • Collaborate with department heads to maintain accurate timecards. Assist department heads and employees with timecard corrections and adjustments as needed.

  • Record and submit accurate instructor payment requests

  • Biweekly submission of payroll to Divisional payroll department by deadline

  • Maintain records of all payroll documents, scanning and saving to appropriate payroll folders.

  • Submission and record keeping of employee giving.

  • Maintain quality communication with partners at Divisional Headquarters to collaborate on all processes and resolve concerns

  • Create and maintain employee personnel files ensuring all employee records are properly saved

  • Maintain dignity of all employees in the handling of paperwork and personnel related matters upholding the utmost respect to confidentiality and employee rights and regulations and Salvation Army policy.

  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and other meetings as determined by the Center Director

  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned by Human Resources Manager.

General Qualifications and Proficiencies:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, highly desired, or two years of related experience preferred.

  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in handling of all Human Resources Department records and information.

  • High attention to detail, consistent reliable follow through and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines.

  • Must have excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook email).

  • Ability to learn and frequently utilize multiple software programs and online platforms including, but not limited to, Sterling, Skill Survey, Virtual Keypad, W2W, Praesidium, Otis, UKG, TSAMM, ID Maker.

  • Demonstrates good judgment, resourcefulness, flexibility, and problem solving.

  • Possesses sensitivity and awareness of diverse cultural perspectives and the ability to work with diverse populations.

  • Service-oriented team player who can take initiative, work independently and quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment.

  • Accurate and precise handling of qualitative and quantitative data.

  • Ability to work well with other employees, customers, and guests while maintaining the standards of The Salvation Army.

  • Be able to gain a working knowledge of Kroc and Salvation Army policies; to clearly communicate said policies to all staff and assist Human Resources manager with compliance as necessary

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

  • Be able to work with all ethnic and socio-economic populations.

  • Able to occasionally work holidays/evening hours/weekends as needed for payroll, staff trainings or events.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for two to three hours at a time, ability to stand, stoop, squat, bend, kneel or walk on an intermittent or continuous basis.

  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers and reach overhead.

  • Ability to operate telephone.

  • Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Education
