Responsible for the strategic direction of proactive, integrated and effective digital marketing solutions. Provides ministry oversight and leadership of integrated digital marketing strategies, including development and implementation of digital growth and consumer engagement plans that reflect the digital interaction of the customer and support the organization's strategic plan. Responsible for all aspects of digital marketing platform technologies and consumer engagement initiatives, setting performance metrics, measuring, and modifying to achieve positive return on investment.

Responsible for leading the digital marketing team and platforms including consumer website(s), CRM, marketing automation (email, mobile), and digital health programs. Oversees MercyOne’s digital content development and brand initiatives to support the website and CRM/email marketing. Operationally, supports digital marketing platform business case analysis and budgets.

Essential Functions:

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of MercyOne in leadership behaviors, practices, and decisions.

Creates digital marketing strategies and plans for key technology platforms with a focus on website, CRM, marketing automation (email, mobile) and online reviews. Oversees the process of integrating prospect and provider data in digital marketing platforms for health ministry.

Directs and coordinates timely updates of new information on all websites, online listings and rankings and other digital channels as appropriate.

Develops and maintains strong working relationships with the health ministry executives and operations leaders, physician leaders, and other stakeholder groups (e.g., Philanthropy, HR/Talent Acquisition, service line leaders), as well as the Trinity Health enterprise digital marketing team.

Mentors, guides, and provides timely feedback on digital marketing team’s performance. Fosters team collaboration and staff development to facilitate excellence in digital marketing and maintain strong colleague engagement.

Leads the ministry’s CRM and marketing automation function – platform expertise, data integrations, process development/flows, ROI and customer encounter data, email, and other marketing automation functions. Works with marketing, physician groups and other local stakeholders for content development.

Leads digital marketing content development collaborating with the director of marketing and director of communications, and other MarComm colleagues in support of email and CRM.

Leads goal setting and reporting for website(s), applications, SEO and CRM/email marketing performance.

Manages the ministry’s vendor relationships related to website, CRM, Google, Facebook, etc.

Supports web strategy, design, and SEO, technology integrations, provider data integration, online reputation, and analytics for the web platform – directing internal content to support health ministry marketing and web initiatives.

Advises the Vice President, Marketing and Communications and Executive Leadership Team on digital marketing engagement strategies and trends across health care and consumer relative to .

Approves budgets and resource allocation (e.g., financial, people, technology) across the digital marketing functions. Constructs business cases as required.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, IT or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of ten (10) years of digital marketing leadership experience. Supervisory experience in managing digital teams; managing large-scale marketing technology implementations from sourcing to go-live, management of budgets, and experience in negotiating with and managing vendors.

Expertise in digital marketing platforms and technologies such as:

CRM platforms CRM data structures and health care provider encounter data Marketing automation platforms Email and text journey building, content development Online reputation management, directory listings Website content management systems Website process, content strategy, basic usability principles/testing, SEO Provider directory data structures, credentialing system familiarity Digital advertising platforms, programmatic and display advertising, paid search and paid social fundamentals, landing page fundamentals, optimization and A/B testing, and measurement Analytics – web, email, CRM, dashboard development, cross channel media analytics

Ability to act as a dynamic, innovative and action-oriented leader who solicits input from all stakeholders and inspires others to perform to their best abilities.

Proven success as a strategic leader who identifies needs proactively, builds teams to pursue change and demonstrates results that add value.

Excellent project/vendor management track record with understanding of the key levers in the management of a complex health care organization operating within the context of the full health journey.

Fluency in data and analytics relating to digital consumer engagement – and the skills to synthesize and report those analytics.

Collaborative leadership style through direct, open and honest communications.

Proven expertise building and leading a digital marketing team that has its eye on the future and is responsive to its stakeholders and the customer.

A mission-driven individual who is decisive and has the courage and confidence to lead and inspire through change and periodic uncertainty.

Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and the confidence and experience to provide advice and counsel to executive and senior management.

Physical and Mental Requirements and Working Conditions

Position operates in a typical office environment. The area is well-lit, temperature-controlled and free from hazards. Position communicates frequently, in person and over the telephone, with people in several different locations across the country.

Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, evolving and dynamic environment; ability to apply critical thinking skills and develop approach as the situation changes.

Ability to prioritize and make decisions, handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously; strong organizational skills; highly self-motivated and self-directed; attentive to detail. Must be able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

Manual dexterity is needed in order to operate a keyboard. Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communications.

Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.

Must be able to travel to the various MercyOne sites throughout the state of Iowa as needed.
