Job Title: 2nd Shift Welder
Job Description
Manufacture trailers for military and commercial applications. Fit parts to print and MIG weld using weld symbols on the drawing. Use a jig to fit up parts, perform quality checks using tools like micrometers, calipers, and a tape measure. Grind down welds using a grinder or sander. All welds inspected by a quality inspector before being sent out. Certification required prior to welding on parts. Uphold quality standards for the Department of Defense.
Responsibilities

Perform quality checks using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and a tape measure.
Grind down welds using a grinder or sander.
Ensure all welds pass inspection by a quality inspector before being sent out.
Achieve certification prior to welding on parts.
Maintain quality standards for the Department of Defense.
Essential Skills
2+ years of MIG welding experience on mild steel.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to read weld symbols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
TIG welding.
Experience welding aluminum.
Work Environment
The work environment is friendly and located in a small town, with many farmers and former farmers employed. Work in two buildings: the older one for steel welding, which is somewhat loud and darker, and a newer, cleaner one for assembly and painting, including TIG and aluminum welding. The 1st Shift Hours are 6AM to 4:30PM. The 2nd shift hours are 3:45 PM to 1:45 AM, Monday to Thursday. Training on the 1st shift for at least a week is preferred.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
