Hamilton College Communications and Marketing Assistant in Clinton, New York
The Communications and Marketing Assistant is an active member of the Communications and Marketing team with many opportunities to collaborate on institutional communications and marketing projects. They will play an important role in supporting the Sr. Director of Marketing and Analytics with social media content creation, management, and analytics. This person will work with a variety of content creation tools and will have the chance to develop a strong understanding of digital marketing. The position also will support team members with proofreading, website analytics, scheduling, travel planning, note taking, file management, and other light administrative responsibilities.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a pay range of $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
Assists with creating and posting content on the College social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
Uses a scheduling tool such as Buffer to help plan and meet social media needs
Assists with data reporting and analysis and helps adjust strategy documents as needed
Coordinates Communications and Marketing meetings and helps team members with scheduling
Attends meetings, takes notes, and contributes ideas
Assists team members with research, proofreading, correspondence, spreadsheets, data entry, and presentations as needed
Other duties as assigned
Experience with social media content creation and with some level of administrative support, customer service, or similar professional services in an office environment
Associate’s or higher degree
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with social media platforms including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and others
Familiarity with tools for creating short-form videos to be used on TikTok, Instagram Reels, etc.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google office tools; able and willing to become proficient with any new content creation tools
Ability to work collaboratively and build professional relationships with colleagues and constituents to meet shared goals and objectives, solve problems, and recommend solutions
Thinks ahead and takes initiative
Strong oral and written communication skills
Commitment to the creative process and to superior customer service
Commitment to actively participating in building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable campus community
