About Us:

The Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum is a vibrant cultural hub dedicated to preserving and presenting the rich history and heritage of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Maintenance Staff member to join our team and help maintain our beautiful facility and grounds.

Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Staff member, you will be responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance and repairs throughout the museum's buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of our facilities, contributing to a welcoming and clean environment for all visitors and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preventive Maintenance and Repairs: Perform maintenance and repairs on buildings, restrooms, galleries, and grounds to avoid major repairs and ensure a safe environment.
  • Cleaning Duties: Dust and clean offices, galleries, reception areas, and other indoor premises. Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors and furniture, dispose of waste, and wash windows.
  • Restroom Maintenance: Keep bathroom facilities clean and sanitary, replenish supplies as needed.
  • Groundskeeping: Maintain landscapes, shrubs, and trees; remove dirt, rubbish, leaves, and exotic plants.
  • Equipment and Exhibit Assistance: Assist in the installation or repair of office equipment, museum collections, and exhibits.
  • Boardwalk Maintenance: Clean and maintain the boardwalk.
  • Minor Repairs: Replace light bulbs and perform minor adjustments on A/C equipment or emergency generators as required.
  • Documentation: Prepare log sheets to document work activities, track equipment usage, report maintenance issues, and monitor inventory.
  • Event Support: Provide assistance during special events, including set-up, moving furniture, disposing of garbage, and post-event clean-up.
  • Training Participation: Attend and participate in training sessions as required.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.
