Job Description

Seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to impact design and engineering of complex bridge and transportation projects. The candidate will be tasked with understanding project scopes, providing detailed designs and analysis of bridges and small roadway upgrades across a multitude of clients. Some will be ODOT, turnpike and local municipalities among the occasional private sector project.

Responsibilities:

-Perform engineering, construction, and design assignments, requiring a solid grasp of at least one engineering discipline and the exercise of professional judgment

-Typically given projects of minor complexity; may have leadership responsibility for less experienced staff

-Perform work under close supervision and provide support to more experienced personnel

-Perform field testing of soils, concrete, observation testing of water, sewer mains, and manholes

-Provide clear and concise documentation of all project activities and quantities

-Perform analyses and design required for minor structures, systems and equipment

-Prepare sketches and diagrams for use by technicians

-Review and check detailed drawings and layouts

-Assist in the preparation of reports, economic and technical feasibility studies, and studies aimed at evaluating alternative systems, equipment, materials or engineering methods

-Assist in the preparation of contract / proposals specifications and construction cost estimates

-Review Contractor's shop drawing submittal

-Perform construction monitoring and coordinate field activities

-Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan

-Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must have:

-B.S in Civil Engineering; focus on structural is a plus

-1+ years experience within AutoCAD / Civil3d with a focus on bridge or transportation projects

-EIT or ability to obtain within 1yr

Preferred:

-3+ years of structural or civil design

-Structural Analysis for bridges

-Provides unmatched growth within this company, PE reimbursement and experience working on high level designs for State/Government funded projects

-This role will be well secure, the client has a backlog of over 1 year of bridge work alone, and they are currently bidding 11 other projects for continuous workload

Work Environment

Office Environment- Can sit in either Cleveland or Columbus markets, both renovated offices. May be required to meet on site with clients as well, but minimal travel will be involved

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
