Howmet Aerospace Tooling Business Center Job Leader in Cleveland, Ohio

Job Summary

Howmet Aerospace has immediate openings for Tooling Business Center Job Leaders in our Tooling Business Center at our Engines Products - Cleveland Operations Tempcraft facility located at 3960 S. Marginal Rd. in Cleveland. This position is responsible for leading and coordinating the shipment of 2 or more new tools a month. The Tooling Business Center Job Leader will be supported by other assigned resources throughout the manufacturing process to ensure quality standard and customer delivery dates are met.

Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.

Job Requirements

Tooling Business Center Job Leaders will be required to:

  • Schedule will include working every other weekend, and overtime will be frequently available to ensure job tasks dates are being achieved.

  • Mentor/train other machinists and support team members to ensure quality and delivery dates are met.

  • Review and evaluate Bluelight Inspection data to determine action plans as needed to deliver quality tool.

  • Be respect and collaborative with peers, supervisors, and other personnel.

    Job Responsibilities

    The job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following elements:

    Responsible for leading the construction of several products concurrently.

    · Lead multiple tools and effectively coordinate with support resources (machinists, EDM, inspection, etc.…)

  • Interpret design blueprints to determine die / mold making plan.

    · Perform operations within very close tolerances.

    · Ability to inspect own work.

    · Ability to work with Engineering and Programming throughout the manufacturing process

  • Able to operate multiple machinery; (Bridge Port, Grinders, Saws, EDM).

  • Comply with Corporate EHS, Quality and HR rules and standards

    Job Specifications

    Basic Qualifications:

  • State issued Journeymen’s papers for Tool & Die and /or Mold Making or 10 plus years Job shop experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the construction of turbine/airfoil molds and dies.

    · Ability to lead the construction of 2 or more tools (core dies, wax dies, plastic dies) a month.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    · Ability to effectively work / communicate as part of a die making team.

    · Thorough knowledge of tooling process.
