Posted August 30, 2023 Date: August 2023 Title: Research Associate: Fidelity Specialist Department: Center on Evidence Base Practices (CEBP) School: Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences Location: MSASS Supervisor Name and Title: Ric Kruszynski, Director OVERVIEW The Center on Evidence Base Practices (CEBP) is a technical assistance center with a mission to promote recovery among people with mental illness, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders through the implementation of evidence-based practices (EBPs) and emerging best practices in behavioral healthcare. The CEBP promotes knowledge development and implementation of EBPs through programmatic and clinical consultation, training, and evaluation services and quality improvement consultation to organizations interested in implementing EBPs. These practice models include but are not limited to Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Supported Employment/Individual Placement and Support (SE/IPS), Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT), Dual Disorder Capability (DDC), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). POSITION OBJECTIVE Working under the supervision of the Manager of Program Evaluation, the Fidelity Specialist will be primarily responsible for coordinating and conducting evaluation of EBPs utilizing standardized fidelity/evaluation tools for programs and systems that receive services from the CEBP. Evaluation efforts also include consultation with programs and systems regarding implementation of EBPs. This position will assist with reports to Ohio Department of Medicaid and other funding sources, EBP consultation and training as determined by the needs of the CEBP. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. At the guidance of the Manager of Program Evaluation, coordinate, schedule, and document requests for fidelity evaluation related activities, conduct pre-site visit interviews, ensure all materials needed for the evaluation are provided to reviewers in advance of the review, ensure all reviewer evaluation documents are turned into the evaluation department in a timely manner, schedule consensus calls, track completion of consensus calls, and fidelity reports are provided to programs within contractual timelines. 20% 2. Participate in onsite fidelity evaluations, data collection and management including review of program policy and procedures, staff interviews, staff meeting observation, front-line staff shadowing, consumer interviews and records reviews. 29% 3. Write evaluation reports; assist CEBP staff with writing evaluation reports, reviewing and editing CEBP staff evaluation reports. 40% NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Participate in supervision as needed and weekly team meetings. 5% 2. Assist with maintaining and managing evaluation databases including tracking of evaluation activities and outcomes monitoring. Participate in quality improvement activities related to the development of evaluation forms, processes, and procedures. 3% 3. Provide information about the evidence and emerging best practice models and the requisite steps associated with their implementation. Deliver program and clinical consultation with program managers, team leaders, and direct service staff to develop and sustain the model. 2% 4. Update daily calendar as changes occur. Enter all reportable activities in database weekly. Follow policies of Case Western Reserve University and the CEBP in regard to reporting employee expenses, and activity for grant reporting. 1% 5. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY No supervisory responsibility. QUALIFICATIONS Master's Degree in behavioral health field required; independent license strongly preferred. Experience in practice models endorsed by the CEBP strongly preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS 1.
