The Sherwin-Williams Company R&D Technician II in Cleveland, Ohio

The Commercialization Group is seeking a technician to support the product development and maintenance efforts for new and existing interior and exterior architectural products designed for the Brands Commercialization Lab. Responsibilities Include: Supporting new product development Performing lab testing including scale ups, performance testing and heat age stability Support of routine experiments, recording results and learning basic knowledge of equipment/computing tools to capture and record data Communication within the project team regarding project needs and status Developing basic knowledge and understanding of product lines and raw materials Executes and analyzes experiments and provides regular updates Establishes timeline for assignments based on priorities with assistance from their supervisor. Identifies and resolves development hurdles. Writes basic reports, outlines procedures used, and results obtained. Recognizes problems and implements corrective actions to resolve the issue. Analyzes data, begins to draw conclusions, and make recommendations. Proficient in operating moderately complex lab instruments. Other duties as assigned. FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: * Must have a High School Diploma * Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status). KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: * 1 year of experience in a lab setting * Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills * Excellent organization and planning skills * Proven problem-solving / decision-making ability Preferred: * Previous Commercialization and/or paint making experience Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusion and Diversity Supportive Employer.
