POSITION OBJECTIVE 

The Manager of Marian K. Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy Programs will work closely with the Director to provide operational management of the academy programs, including local, national and global initiatives for leadership development. Partner with the director in recruitment, enrollment activities and management of strategic partnerships. Manage the development, execution and evaluation of outcomes of activities for ongoing and new leadership academy program development. The mission of the academy is to position the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing as the leadership destination for nurses and nursing and to enable nurses to have the knowledge necessary to catalyze changes within nursing and health care. Through this groundbreaking initiative the program will influence nursing education practices nationwide, conduct research on nurse leadership, and implement national and global executive leadership programs

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 Conduct short- and long term strategic planning for the academy and all academy programs in conjunction with the director, taking a long-range, broad approach to problem solving and decision making through objective analysis, thinking ahead and planning. Provide operational management of all academy programs including the Coldiron and Miller Fellowship Programs, Miller Scholars, and all other leadership programs. Partner with the director in development, execution and evaluation of outcomes of activities for ongoing and new leadership academy program development. Help prepare evaluations, manage the evaluation process, and summarize the results. Make recommendations for modifications to programs based upon participant needs, feedback/evaluations, and best industry practices. (10%)

 Manage leadership program recruitment and enrollment activities. Develop and submit weekly reports outlining recruitment activities, e.g., phone, email contacts, and follow-up. Modify as necessary. Analyze outcome/data to determine future activities and design and implement follow-up. Identify, research and recommend appropriate advertising media and recruitment initiatives. Analyze potential market for recruitment through a variety of sources. Actively recruit candidates by reaching out via phone on a routine basis. Provide excellent customer service with prospective candidates through phone, email and in-person interactions. Perform ongoing follow-up for all inquiries/applicants/acceptances into programs including phone calls, emails and visits. Identify inquiry/applicant need for specific information and make appropriate referral. Meet with prospective candidates. Screen candidates and provide disposition recommendations. Partner closely with the school of nursing recruitment team on recruiting efforts. (10%)

 Manage the collection, storage, and development of reports of data related to the program. Generate reports on academy data and conduct data analysis. Present reports and findings to the director and other pertinent stakeholders. (10%)

 Manage major partnerships with key professional nursing and health care organizations. Network with current and potential partners locally, nationally and globally as a representative of the academy. Interface with hospital chief nursing officers and other high-level executives to discuss the offerings of the academy and manage recruitment efforts. (10%)

 Direct academy marketing and communications efforts in collaboration with University Marketing and Communications. Conduct market research and make recommendations to enhance the visibility of the academy. Make decisions on messaging, content, appropriate media formats and more. Direct the production of videos for various programs. Manage the Leadership Academy website, collaborating with University Marketing and Communications to curate a schedule of content including articles, videos and biosketches
