Cleveland Clinic Non-Registered Monitor Technician in Cleveland, Ohio

As a Non-Registered EEG Monitoring Technologist, you will monitor electrophysiological data on patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Gathers data using closed circuit audio/visual equipment as well as electrophysiological recording instruments.

  • Uses electrophysiological recording instruments using both surface recording electrodes as well as electrophysiological recording instruments.

  • Performs record keeping data using the computer, maintains daily logs of patients status.

Education:

  • Associate's Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or related patient care field.

  • Two years direct patient care experience may substitute for the Associate's Degree requirement.

Certifications:

  • Technologist must successfully obtain the ABRET (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists) credentialing for R. EEG T. (Registered EEG Technologist) within two years of hire into this position.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association required.

Complexity of Work:

  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Work Experience:

  • One year experience as a non-registered EEG Technician.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to assist with positioning and transporting of patients, pushing beds, carts and wheelchairs.

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.

  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.

  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
