Aston Carter Logistics Coordinator - Domestic & International in Cleveland, Ohio

Description:

The Domestic International Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the timely, cost-effective and secure movement of all company domestic and international freight movements. The scope of responsibility is across the supply chain, starting at the time the goods are packed up from the seller and including when the goods are delivered to a company or customer’s location. The domestic international Logistics Coordinator will be the one preparing, distributing, and maintaining all shipping documents for domestic shipments, exports, and imports. Cross-train in customer service to serve as a back up and help with order overflow. Customer service duties include communicating effectively with team members within the operations department, provide timely and accurate information to incoming customer order status and product requests. Will also partner with the sales team to meet and exceed customer’s expectations.

International Orders:

  • Arrange bookings, update SAP with follow up information and date changes.

  • Shipping documents to the forwarder and the customer.

  • Coordination with production regarding changes and scheduling equipment in to load.

Bulk Shipments:

  • Scheduling between carriers and multiple locations - this is taking on a greater need as the availability of drivers and equipment are still a major issue with a heightened level of communication that is needed to assure the customer is not without product.

  • Updating SAP and the customer timely so that everyone has time to react and go into contingency if necessary.

  • Carrier coverage for bulk orders that are outside the realm of current carriers.

Domestic Orders:

  • Customer shipments and working through their portals for shipment routings and scheduling.

  • Freight Cost updating in SAP.

  • Freight Accrual Process.

  • Third Party Shipments - freight handling

  • Scheduling LTL, Bulk and Truckload carriers for better dock productivity.

Customer Service:

  • Enters customer orders in SAP, orders confirmed via SAP order acknowledgment.

  • Prepare bills of lading; verify material description, customer item codes, regulatory detail, quantity, and ship to location match the order.

  • Arrange same day expedited deliveries when requested by customer and approved by Management.

  • Review shipped paperwork for proper signatures and dates.

  • File completed sales orders monthly.

  • Perform administrative duties as required; Answer phone, open door for visitors and contractors, sort and distribute mail.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management (Preferred)

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience preferably in international logistics and supply chain distribution

  • SAP experience is required.

  • Previous experience working with Freight Forwarders

  • Prior working experience of customs procedures and regulations

  • ISO, International Export and Hazardous Material Shipping experience

  • Prior working experience of logistics processes and procedures
