OhioMeansJobs|Cleveland-Cuyahoga County is sourcing a Full-Time Medical Assitance for a Healthcare Office company throughout Cuayhgoa County. 

 

Position Overview

Company is a rapidly growing clinical research site and is affiliated with Company. Our research center is currently looking for talented candidates for the role of Medical Research Assistant. The Medical Research Assistant is responsible for administrative as well as clinical tasks, such as specimen collection, blood draws and lab processing. The Medical Research Assistant will work closely with the research team and physicians by preparing patients and rooms, assisting physicians and research personnel with exams, procedures, data collection and other clinical research-related activities. Ideal candidates have good problem-solving and analytical skills, an ability to work as a team member and are well-organized with strong attention to detail.

This is a Full-time, hourly position. Salary is $16-$19 per hour based on experience. This position requires legal authorization to work in the US. 

Essential Functions

· Escorts patients to exam rooms in order of appointment times. Prepares patient room with the expected forms and equipment, such as EKG machine, tablets, lab kits, etc.

· Transcribes during visit and assures documentation of patient care to meet criteria dictated by Good Clinical Practice (GCP) to capture research required data collection

· Straightens and cleans exam rooms after patient visits.

· Maintains inventory with protocol-related supplies, lab kits, lab processing materials

· Maintains patient records and charts related to the clinical research study

· Institutes emergency care appropriately, accurately, and professionally.

· Demonstrates proper judgment and decision-making skills when necessary and adheres to practice policies. (OSHA/HIPAA)

· Monitor and complete lab documents, biopsy and culture book, telephone encounters and team task box within the EMR, if relevant

· Handle all clinical phone calls related to patient appointments, recruitment, potential outreach to sponsors

· Complete clerical functions as directed such as: data entry, transcription of results, schedule new and follow up appointments, answer phones, scanning documents into the EMR, obtain outside medical records.

· Travel to other office locations may be necessary

Requirements - Current and valid documentation as a Certified (Registered) Medical Assistant or experienced Clinical Research Medical Assistant or willing/able to obtain. Strong Communication skills, Strong team-Building skills, Ability to Multi-task, flexibility, Telephone skills, customer service skills, time management, organization, attention to detail, scheduling, computer skills, professionalism, focus on quality, knowledge of basic computer software programs and knowledge of medical terminology. In addition, this role requires an experienced Medical Assistant with skills in phlebotomy and EKG collection. Ideally, this candidate will have prior research related experience, including laboratory specimen processing, packaging and shipping preparation with IATA certification.

Preferred - BA/BS in a relevant field, 2 years of experience as a medical research assistant or related field.
