Cummins Inc. Engine Workshop Technician - Level II in Cleveland, Ohio

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Cleveland, OH.

You will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete complex repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

(Intermediate):

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs

  • Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision

(Advanced):

  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools

  • Larger more complicated engine rebuilds

  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)

QUALIFICATIONS

This position is required to be a part of the Local 18 Operating Engineers Union.

This position will require a completed DMV driving report but no Driver Qualification file. ORDER, DMV report. CANDIDATE MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD AND HAVE 2 YEARS DRIVING EXPERIENCE

Candidate must be willing to work 2nd shift if business demands require it.

  • A current valid license is required for this role

  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

  • 3 years driving experience

  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use

  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

  • This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
