Job ID 12378 Location Case Main Campus Full/Part Time Full-Time Regular/Temporary Regular Job Description POSITION OBJECTIVE The diversity program manager will assist with programs and initiatives to promote diversity, inclusion and equity across the university and create community and a sense of belonging among campus constituencies. The manager will be responsible for diversity programming within the office, including managing annual events and receptions, developing initiatives, securing guest speakers, overseeing planning and logistic details and marketing for ODEIE events. The program manager also will oversee the ODEIE webpage and be responsible for the annual diversity report. Additionally, the manager will assist with the facilitation of campus diversity training sessions, identify strategic partnerships and alliances and represent the office on campus committees. The manager will assist the vice president in raising the university's profile of equality and diversity both internally and externally as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide leadership in the development, implementation and delivery of diversity and inclusion initiatives. Assist in the design, development and delivery of trainings, workshops, and seminars on inclusion across the university. Assist in the development and promotion of an integrated institutional strategy on diversity and inclusion. Serve on the Diversity Leadership Council and assist with DLC meeting planning. Represent the ODEIE at meetings and functions as needed. Implement diversity programming that educate, promote, and celebrate inclusion, diversity, and equity, including the evaluation and assessment of ODEIE diversity initiatives and programs. (25%) Oversee the HBCU/HSI Partnership in collaboration with the Office of the Provost and under the direction of the Senior Director for Faculty & Institutional Diversity. Assist in developing strategies to improve and support the recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce and student body. Serve as a liaison for the university with community and civic organizations. (35%) Assist the Director of Diversity & Strategic Initiatives with the People of Color Initiative (PCI). Seek to create connections and support systems for historically underrepresented students, faculty, and staff of color. Plan, organize and promote programing designed to foster mentoring, professional development, leadership development and community building among historically underrepresented faculty, staff, and students. Facilitate engagement with historically underrepresented alumni (15%) Effectively communicate, promote, and market the university's efforts both internally and externally by developing brochures and marketing and promotional materials in collaboration with University Marketing & Communications (UMC). Responsible for the preparation of the ODEIE annual report. Responsible for coordinating with UMC to produce office publications, including event programs, reports, and newsletters. Establish and manage priorities for office website and responsible for website content and regular website updates in coordination with UMC. (20%) NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform other duties as assigned. (5%) CONTACTS Department: Regular contact with staff in ODEIE. University: Regular contact with Office of Human Resources, Office of the President and Provost, various deans' offices, Office of Multicultural Affairs, Student Affairs Offices, LGBT Center, Social Justice Institute, Center for Women and other university offices, departments and centers. External: Occasionally work with local businesses and organizations and with alumni. Students: Contact with students of color and CWRU student leaders.
