Case Western Reserve University Digital Content Specialist in Cleveland, Ohio

POSITION OBJECTIVE  The digital content specialist helps ensure Case Western Reserve University's online presence is up to date, accurate and accessible for people of all abilities. This individual is responsible for reviewing, fixing, and addressing issues with Case Western Reserve websites to ensure compliance with the university brand and quality standards. The digital content specialist will assist in the building of websites, migrating or creating new content, including selecting appropriate and high-quality photos. They also will test all websites for quality assurance before they go live. The individual also will monitor sites to ensure quality is maintained after websites are live, and follow up with site owners to address areas of concern. This individual will work closely and regularly with partners on site maintenance; superior customer service skills and professionalism are required.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  1. Create and maintain websites in Drupal 10. This includes: building out new pages based on content provided by university partners, adjusting existing pages based on requested edits, selecting and properly sizing photos for websites. (40%) 2. Perform quality assurance checks of all university websites including using available tools and predetermined guidelines to assess and remediate website issues such as accessibility, CWRU visual identity adherence and usability. (20%) 3. Assist the web development team with answering questions and remediating issues submitted via the web team's help desk resolver group. (15%) 4. Assist with the training of university partners in the university's content management system of Drupal 10 and answer users follow-up questions via drop-in sessions. (10%) 5. Assist with basic site development including installing content types, creating lists with Views and setting up roles and permissions within the university content management system. (10%) NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Assist with special projects as assigned and perform other related duties (3%) 2. Assist in building website architecture documents (2%) CONTACTS Department: Daily contact with department staff to maintain workflow. University: Contact with school and department partners. External: Occasional contact with outside consultants and representatives. Students: Little or no contact with students. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY No direct supervisory responsibility. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in web design, computer science or a related field and 3 years of professional work experience required in website building. REQUIRED SKILLS 1. Proficiency in website content building in a content management system (Drupal preferred)  2. Experience with Photoshop or Creative Cloud tools 3. Knowledge and understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 4. Knowledge and understanding of website information architecture 5. Ability to utilize Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) 6. Excellent computer skills (Mac preferred) 7. Superior attention to detail 8. Ability to work independently and as part of a group 9. Ability to seek out additional information when needed 10. Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills 11. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects at one time 12. Ability to meet consistent attendance 13. Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and partners WORKING CONDITIONS General office working environment.
