We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Brookfield Properties U.S. Office Division in Cleveland, Ohio. The Cybersecurity Engineer will have the exciting opportunity in expanding Brookfield Property’s information security program. You will be responsible for working with the security engineering team to remediate threats, identify opportunities to improve the security processes, hunt for emerging threats, and maintain our industry leading portfolio of security tools. This is a hands-on role; familiarity with Enterprise Security Architectures, Windows systems, Networking, and OT/BMS is critical.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Review security incidents to remediate threats and help lead the escalation of security events in conjunction with the incident response plan

  • Build, maintain, and improve security tools to ensure optimal performance and leverage investments to their full potential

  • Work with our MSSP and other vendors to optimize the escalation processes and reduce false positives

  • Communicate and work shoulder to shoulder with business partners to drive security initiatives and encourage employees to champion security best practices

  • Development and refinement of playbooks and operational procedures for response

  • Help drive efficiency improvements as we expand our use of security orchestration and automation tools

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security/Cybersecurity, or a related discipline (machine learning, statistics, mathematics, etc.)

  • A strong background in Security or IT, with at least 3 years of experience including Incident Detection, Incident Response, Security Tool administration, and/or Threat Hunting

  • A strong understanding of Security Architecture and Networking Protocols

  • A strong understanding of how malware operates and how it can be detected

  • The ability to perform forensics to determine root cause for security incidents and providing remediation steps to prevent recurrence

  • Experience using a SIEM and correlating data from various sources for the purpose of threat detection

  • Proven track record of analyzing, diagnosing and solving complex issues independently

  • Cloud security operations and engineering hands on experience

  • Hands-on experience automating workflows via scripting or software engineering, for the purpose of making detection and response processes more efficient and automated

  • Experience in vulnerability management and risk assessment with the ability to come up with creative solutions to maintain CIA and keep business functioning

  • Previous experience in an environment with extensive OT/IoT presence

  • Incident commander experience taking incidents from detection to lessons learned

  • Able to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily understood and authoritative manner.

  • Ability to find a balance between Security and Business objectives, by creating a culture where security is major consideration

  • Process automation and scripting with a SOAR Tool preferred
