*Ohio Means Jobs Cuyahoga County is sourcing Boiler/Burner Field Service Technicians for a Cleveland-based boiler/burner service company. *

*Position Summary: *

This position requires field service on commercial / industrial boiler and burner systems in Northern Ohio. This includes natural gas and fuel oil combustion testing, adjusting of the fuel/air ratio on various boilers, burners, ovens, and incinerators, while using an electronic combustion analyzer in addition to other customer boiler service needs.

*Position Responsibilities: *

· Responsible for retrofit and repair of boilers, burners, and accessories, utilizing knowledge of steam and hot water theory, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts. · Conduct calibration, repair, and adjustment of associated controls. · Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications to customer's equipment. · Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customer's location. · Assist in installations and start-up of newly installed boilers and burners. · Prepare for new equipment commissioning and repairs by examining equipment, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work. · Document work by completing daily paperwork on each job. · Determine parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need · Maintain inventory of required supplies and tools on company supplied service vehicle. · Communicate sales leads to Sales Department. · Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees. · Follow all company safety policies and procedures. · Participate in on-going training to enhance knowledge and skills. · Keep current on the installation, operation, service, and repair of represented products.

General requirements:

· A positive attitude and desire to be part of a winning team. · Ability to follow electrical schematics, piping diagrams, and blueprints. · Occasional travel to out of state customer sites. · Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction. · Flexibility to work afterhours, weekends, and on-call as scheduled.

Specific Qualifications:

· Minimum of five years of mechanical work experience. · Possess specific knowledge of troubleshooting and maintaining industrial/commercial steam and hot water boilers, boiler room operation, and auxiliary equipment. · Familiar with all forms of flame safeguards and the use of VOM's and other troubleshooting tools. · Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. · Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure including rate, ratio, and percentage. · Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. · Full mobility is required, including the ability to use hands to finger, handle, and feel. · Ability to crawl into confined spaces. · Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. · Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds. · Have specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

*Education, Licenses and Certifications: *

· Valid driver's license: required · High school diploma, or G.E.D.: required · Minimum of five years of mechanical work experience: required · License (e.g. Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc.): preferred · Certifications or vocational or technical training: preferred
