Cleveland Clinic Autism Classroom Coordinating Teacher in Cleveland, Ohio

We offer full day year-round programs that focus on the development of our student's communication, socialization, and academics.

As a Teacher Coordinator, you will collaborate with the Autism Center Coordinator of Educational Services to design specific curricula to work toward each student's Individual Education Plan goals and to design and monitor individual and group programs. You will also provide support and direction for Classroom Behavior Therapist caregivers.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in design, implementation and oversight of Individual Education Plans.

  • Oversees daily flow of student programs and classroom data collection.

  • Organizes and schedules group activities and community based outings.

  • Acquires baseline data and implements programs using behavioral model.

  • Monitors and makes appropriate adjustments.

  • Prepares and maintains needed educational materials and environment.

  • Provides training and feedback for evaluations.

  • Presents on assigned topics at workshops and in-services.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in special education or related field.

  • Master's Degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis.

Certifications:

  • Ohio State certification as a teacher.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with children, families, educators and other professionals.

  • Requires enthusiasm and demonstrated patience with students.

Work Experience:

  • One year experience working with children with autism.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting students, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, physically able to manage students of varying weight and sizes.

  • Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing.

  • May be exposed to communicable diseases.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
