Job ID 12371 Location Case Main Campus Full/Part Time Full-Time Regular/Temporary Regular Job Description POSITION OBJECTIVE Working with a high degree of independence, the Aquatics Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight, management, safety and financial performance of the aquatics department and fitness-related spaces within the Veale Center. This includes, but is not limited to, open swim, swim lessons, aquatics programming, and the daily use, events and services held within fitness-related spaces. Directly responsible for lifeguard and student shift leader staff, pool schedule management and aquatic-related events. Ensure the highest level of professionalism, skill and customer service from our staff. Ensure that patrons experience the professional standards, protocols, results and customer satisfaction expected. Ensure the continual safety of classes, services and spaces, and enforce administrative policies and procedures. Responsible for the safety, upkeep and equipping of the aquatics facility and fitness-related spaces. Work closely with the Fitness Manager, Operations Manager and Senior Director to create, develop and manage aquatics programming and services to increase revenue. Assist in achieving overall participation and sales goals by having a thorough understanding of client, participant and community needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Oversee the diverse aquatics staff. Hold them to a high degree of productivity while providing excellent customer service and representing University Fitness Centers as a leader in the industry. Create and maintain schedules and ensure times, events and client sessions are covered. Recruit, hire and develop personnel. Create an environment of collaboration, teamwork and enthusiastic support for the facilities and each other. Hold regular meetings and information sessions and encourage continual education and certification. Maintain a high profile to ensure continuous focus on customer service, quality of the customer experience, and increased customer satisfaction, participation, retention, referrals, and revenue. Continuously evaluate the level of professionalism, skill and services we are providing. Processing payroll, performance reviews, recommend commendations and administer disciplinary actions. Respond to all questions concerning aquatics services, programs and events in a timely and professional manner. Set an example for others by promoting our facilities, programs and services on social media and in the community. (60%) Collaborate in the development of innovative, revenue-building programs, initiatives, events, and services. Incorporate current industry trends, standards and studies to ensure the highest level of participation, results achievement, and customer satisfaction in the delivery of programs and services. Track open swim, program, service and event participation, and data for measurement of individual and program goal achievement, outcomes, and results. Assist with outcomes focused reports including enrollment, revenue, expenses and other statistics as required based on the identified business plan and program goals and objectives. (15%) Recruit, hire, supervise and schedule the student shift leader staff for the fitness-related spaces. Process payroll, performance reviews, recommend commendations and administer disciplinary actions. Daily monitoring of fitness-related spaces to ensure they are clean, safe and well equipped. Coordinate with appropriate staff and departments for any maintenance, equipment or safety issues. Help develop, implement and oversee Emergency Procedures and Protocols for the aquatics facility and fitness-related spaces. (15%) Assist in the planning, organizing and staffing of aquatics events, programs and services with campus partners and the Department of Athletics.
