Join a team that designs, develops, and integrates highly complex inertial navigation systems within Honeywell Aerospace Technologies. As a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer for the Defense Surface Navigation Systems Team, you will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. As a member of the product development team, you will be involved in every aspect of the systems life cycle; from the front end of business development through product end of life. You will work across disciplines within the Electronic Solutions Engineering Sensing, Guidance, and Navigation business to drive growth and reach critical business milestones.

You will report directly to our Systems Engineering Manager and you will work out of our Clearwater, Florida location on a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use advanced knowledge of Systems Engineering discipline, processes, and tools to complete and ensure compliance of various project subtasks. Examples of project subtasks expected to be executed by this role are architecture definition, requirements definition, leading HW/SW development, leading design reviews, leading systems documentation, system integration, and developing test validation and verification.

  • Interact with internal and external customers to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications and the integration of products onto customer platforms.

  • Help to develop and define engineering processes in the organization. Recognized as an emerging authority within the organization who acts as a mentor to early career engineers.

  • Serve as the interface to the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, Project Engineer, and other Integrated Program Team (IPT) leads to coordinate sub-team technical and programmatic status and issues

  • Provide technical guidance in identifying and resolving system issues, minimizing downtime, and ensuring systems remain operational

  • Identify opportunities for process and system improvements, implement enhancements, and contribute to the optimization of operations

  • Travel within US and/or internationally: 10%

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • At least 7+ years of engineering experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge in systems integration, implementation, and troubleshooting

  • Excellent communication and people-oriented skills

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision

  • Ability to adapt to project changes and be flexible in a challenging and fast-paced environment

  • Multi-tasker and ability to manage a variety of complicated tasks and people

  • Lab experience testing and debugging complex electronic circuits and software using Oscilloscope, network analyzers, multimeters, or logic analyzers

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) with Cameo / SysML

  • Diverse thoughts and ideas, experience teaming and collaboration with global Engineers

  • DOD Security Clearance or ability to attain one
