GE Vernova Manufacturing Manager 2 - Production Supervision in Clearwater, Florida

Job Description Summary

Perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Includes Service Shops. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Follows and enforces all EHS rules and regulations, including conducting weekly safety meetings, ensuring employee safety and 5S in housekeeping.

  • Active in all EHS programs, promote an accident –free workplace, H&S framework element ownership, active safety team member.

  • Maintains the highest standards of integrity while complying with company initiatives and administering local policies.

  • Responsible for meeting all established safety, cost, quality and delivery commitments.

  • Understand and meet manufacturing metrics such as service, inventory, etc.

  • Drive and support Lean Mfg objectives to increase quality, delivery performance and productivity.

  • Provide leadership, coaching and performance feedback to Group Leaders and team, develop and maintain a positive, respectful work environment.

  • Initiate an open communication pattern to promote exchange of information and ideas with team, peers and management.

  • Responsible for the identification, communication, and timely resolution of production, personnel, quality, and safety issues.

  • Provide necessary equipment and materials to team.

  • Approve time off, determine overtime / absenteeism coverage needs and schedule personnel accordingly.

  • Ensure that equipment and personnel conform to ISO 9001

  • Identify inefficiencies, make recommendations, support and follow through on process improvements.

  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees. Typically managing hourly employee populations.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Manufacturing Leadership)

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.

  • Sound understanding of Lean tools and the methodology to implement successfully.
