In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments.     The Position

    Manage the contractor & vendor selection process. Ensure the acquisition of high-quality goods/services at the best possible prices by negotiating & monitoring contracts & relationships with selected suppliers. Manage continuous improvement initiatives that drive efficient & effective sourcing practices.

    Essential Functions

  • Ensure contract coverage for key services & goods

  • Responsible for the commercial part of contracts and alignment of contracts with legal, Investment, Engineering & Sourcing (IES), local sites, and other relevant stakeholders

  • Negotiate supplier agreement & follow-up, where vendor responsibility has been assigned

  • Ensure storage of contracts in the proper systems

  • Benchmark operational costs to industry standards regarding RFQ process

  • Manage & monitor supplier performance & organizational compliance with all established supplier agreements

  • Identify, pursue, & maximize opportunities for realizing cost saving without sacrificing the quality, service & reliability expected of our suppliers

  • Support investment projects with pros and cons in relation to the procurement alternatives

  • Support the Supplier Diversity program & promote the inclusion of diverse suppliers in all sourcing initiatives

  • Contribute in undertaking of administrative tasks required in the department

  • Coordinate sourcing activities with Denmark function for assigned commodities

  • Consider new tools, theory and methodology for optimizing worldwide processes, sourcing and/or supplier relationships

  • Develop & maintain internal & external stakeholder relationships

  • Maintain & develop department procedures according to cGMPs

  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Engineering, Business, Finance, Procurement, Accounting, Purchasing or similar field from an accredited university required

  • Five (5) years of experience as responsible for procurement or project management in capital investment projects preferred

  • Experience from the pharmaceutical industry or other regulated industries preferred

  • Knowledge of strategic good procurement / engineering practices and their application to the purchase of equipment and services preferred

  • Experience with development of procurement tools and templates preferred

  • Strong negotiation & contracting skills preferred

  • Good verbal, written communication, and presentation skills preferred

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills preferred

  • Excellent people skills as well as a profound understanding of quality, time and stakeholder management preferred

  • Able to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets required
