Mountain Lakes Medical Center Patient Access Leads - Days and Nights in Clayton, Georgia

The Patient Access Lead is responsible for high-level daily supervision of the hospital's Patient Registration areas, inpatient and outpatient. Duties include guidance and coverage for employees and direct oversight for ongoing staff training and education. Works closely with Revenue Cycle Manager. The goal of this position is high quality service for patients and accuracy of information affecting both pre and post visit services.

Job Type: Full-time Shift: Days OR Nights Duties:

  1. Ensures HIPPA and compliance is followed

  2. Ensures accuracy and completeness of daily registrations to include correct patient demographics, insurance and referring provider

  3. Ensures a high level of quality service provided to patients to ensure patient has an excellent experience

  4. Responsible for staffing and coverage in all Patient Access areas

  5. Responsible for staff development, including training, reviews of progress and communication of findings

  6. Monitors and audits all Patient Access processes pertaining to department policies and procedures

  7. Monitors scheduling interaction and performance with physician offices and patients to ensure accuracy and professionalism

  8. Offers guidance to staff with collections

  9. Ability to problem-solve appropriately and independently

Qualifications:

  1. High School Graduate or EquivalentALONGwith at least an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's preferred)

  2. Previous supervisory experience preferred and experience in patient registration and staffing required.

  3. Ability to foster an environment that nurtures collaboration, teamwork, and mutual respect.

  4. Analytical ability required to evaluate processes and to recommend improvements as necessary

  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills to work with patients, physicians and staff

  6. Committed to continuous training and education of staff to develop a team of excellence

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Ability to sit, walk or stand for long periods of time

  2. Normal or corrected hearing and vision

  3. Ability to read and write effectively in English

  4. Ability to effectively communicate with employees physicians and office staff, patients, and visitors

  5. Ability to remain calm under stress

  6. Reaching and bending, including reaching above shoulder height

  7. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
