Job Title: Program Manager w/ utilities exp

Job Description

We are seeking a Program Manager to oversee construction projects including transmission, substation, and overhead/underground low voltage distribution construction projects. You will manage a range of utility construction projects at various stages of development or completion. This role involves resource allocation, scheduling, risk mitigation, accounting, reporting, customer billing, material procurement, subcontractor management, record-keeping, documentation, and budgeting. .

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of current and ongoing utility construction projects.

  • Allocate resources, schedule tasks, and mitigate risks.

  • Handle accounting, reporting of project costs, customer billing, scheduling, material procurement, subcontractors, record keeping, documentation, and budgeting.

  • Track key performance and financial metrics.

  • Prepare proposals and set up job structures including safety, scheduling, document control plans, cost codes, job cost spread, material/tooling plans, equipment, billing, etc.

  • Build strong relationships with utility companies, local governments, and stakeholders.

  • Supervise installation and commissioning of low-voltage distribution systems.

  • Conduct feasibility studies, system design evaluations, and risk assessments for electric distribution expansions.

  • Monitor project financials, identify cost overruns, and negotiate contracts with subcontractors, landowners, and vendors.

  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior leadership using MS Project and Ecosys software.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 years of experience in program or project management, specifically in utility or power-related work.

  • Experience in construction related to utility or power work such as substation work, natural gas, underground or overhead utility, transmission, compression station, or capital expansion projects at utility service centers or generation sites.

  • Document control and organizational skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or Civil Engineering.

  • Proficiency in MS Project.

  • Experience with installation, commissioning, and vendor management.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with low voltage distribution systems, pole replacements, and system conversions.

  • Ability to manage budgets and project reports.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.07/hr.
