Job Title : Vice President- Finance, Purchasing, Patent, Legal & Portfolio Management

What You Will Do :

This multifaceted leadership role drives financial performance, strategic operations, and legal compliance for L’Oréal’s Research & Innovation Hub in Clark, NJ. Overseeing Finance, Purchasing, Patent Management, Legal, Portfolio Management (PFM), and Data Privacy coordination, this role demands a strategic thinker with a strong operational understanding of finance and campus management, as well as the leadership skills to empower and guide expert teams. This position reports locally and requires a high degree of autonomy and "cultural intelligence" to collaborate effectively with global counterparts across diverse areas of responsibility.

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction across Finance, Purchasing, Patent Management, Legal, PFM, and Data Privacy, ensuring alignment with global R&I objectives and local operational needs.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence, promoting synergy between specialized teams and fostering strong relationships with global counterparts.

  • Exemplify “cultural intelligence,” demonstrating sensitivity and adaptability when collaborating across diverse cultures and geographies within the global L’Oréal network.

    Finance & Campus Operations:

  • Lead financial planning and analysis for the R&I Hub, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and providing insightful financial analysis to guide decision-making.

  • Oversee financial compliance and risk management activities, ensuring adherence to L’Oréal standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide hands-on management of campus-related projects, ensuring successful execution and alignment with R&I objectives.

    Strategic Team Leadership:

  • Purchasing: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the purchasing team, ensuring effective sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, and cost optimization.

  • Patent Management: Guide the patent management team in developing and executing strategies to protect L'Oréal's intellectual property assets throughout the patent lifecycle.

  • Legal: Oversee legal counsel and support to the R&I Hub on contracts, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and litigation, ensuring alignment with L'Oréal standards.

  • Portfolio Management (PFM): Provide strategic guidance and performance management to the PFM team, ensuring alignment with overall R&I priorities and resource allocation.

  • Data Privacy Coordination: Oversee data privacy initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and L’Oréal’s commitment to data protection.

    What We Are Looking For :

    Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience, demonstrating a successful track record in financial management, strategic operations, and leading specialized teams.

  • Proven ability to lead and empower teams through influence and mentorship, driving performance through effective delegation and performance management.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cultural intelligence skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and navigate a global, matrixed organization.

  • Strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, comfortable with autonomy and able to make sound decisions aligned with L’Oréal’s values and objectives.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, JD, or other relevant advanced degree preferred
