WestRock Company Production Supervisor in City of Industry, California
JOB SUMMARY
The production supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of their plant, including budget, maintenance, quality control, receiving and shipping, and day-to-day operations.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
\u2022 Coordinate departments through the supervisors to maintain safety, quality, and efficient production
\u2022 Oversee performance of first-line supervisors. Communicate Company standards to staff
\u2022 Establish high morale throughout your staff by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems
\u2022 Report any mechanical, scheduling, or personnel problems that may have significant effects on operations
\u2022 Oversee the proper training and manning of plant positions
\u2022 Oversee the inventory of parts and supplies in order to ensure a continuous operation
\u2022 Responsible for the upkeep of machinery; coordinate maintenance work with a minimum of downtime
\u2022 Solve production problems that are not or cannot be resolved at the supervisory level
\u2022 Communicate with Accounting, Human Resources, and Purchasing the various needs of the Production Department as well as see those respective department needs are met by Production
\u2022 Work with Sales and Design on new styles or items for run ability on existing equipment
\u2022 Work with Sales Service to determine proper instructions forwarded to production for producing items
\u2022 Provide input for annual budget and capital plan
\u2022 Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including union contract, safety program, and good housekeeping
\u2022 Additional duties may be assigned by management
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
\u2022 High school diploma or GED plus college and/or appropriate technical courses
\u2022 Demonstrated supervisory skills
\u2022 Six years\u2019 production manufacturing experience with two years as supervisor
\u2022 Clear, concise oral and written English communication skills
\u2022 College and/or related technical courses
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
To successfully perform the essential functions of this role it requires the ability to: stand occasionally, walk frequently, frequent use of hands (reach with hands and arms), view computer monitor, use telephone, speak and listen frequently. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will encounter noise level typical of that of an office with computers, phones, printers, and light traffic. May encounter frequent interruptions throughout the day. May be required to work in a confined area and sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
