Ohio Valley Goodwill Veterans Employment Case Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio

Position Overview: we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Case Manager to join our team and work directly with homeless veterans to support their journey towards stable housing and employment. The Case Manager will play a crucial role in assessing the needs of veterans, developing individualized service plans, and connecting them with resources and opportunities to achieve their goals. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the needs and goals of homeless veterans.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans in collaboration with veterans, focusing on housing stability and employment.
  • Provide ongoing case management and support to veterans, including advocacy, crisis intervention, and referrals to community resources.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, employers, and community organizations, to facilitate access to housing, employment, healthcare, and other services.
  • Monitor veterans' progress towards goals, document case notes, and maintain accurate records in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Empower veterans to build essential life skills, such as budgeting, job readiness, and conflict resolution, through one-on-one coaching and group workshops.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and holistic care for veterans.
  • Stay informed about relevant policies, best practices, and resources related to homelessness, veterans' issues, and social services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in case management, social services, or a related field, with a focus on serving homeless populations and/or veterans.
  • Knowledge of issues impacting homeless veterans, including trauma, mental health, substance abuse, and poverty.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and build rapport with clients in crisis.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and engage community partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
