Job Location : Lincoln, NE / Cincinnati, OH (hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, develop, and implement of AI / Gen AI models & applications integrating with existing systems and processes.

  • Provide hands-on leadership & guidance to cross-functional teams with data scientists, ML engineers, and developers

  • Ensure high-quality, scalable, reliable, best-in-class AI and Generative AI deliverables and solutions.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and methodologies in AI and Gen AI; assessing applicability to the life insurance domain.

  • Drive proof-of-concept initiatives and help the company stay competitive in an evolving digital landscape.

  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders identifying AI application opportunities.

  • Work with Product, Compliance, and Ops teams understanding pain points, designing innovative solutions meeting business goals.

  • Ensure high standards of data governance, quality, and integration to support AI initiatives.

  • Ensure data infrastructure supports AI initiatives effectively, including data collection, preprocessing, quality, and security.

  • Contribute to develop and maintain KPIs for AI models, monitor performance ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals and timely delivery.

  • Continuously monitor & report outcomes.

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of AI initiatives, including identifying trends, risks, and competitive advantages.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with AI and Generative AI, such as bias, fairness, and privacy.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, AI/ML.

  • 5+ yrs of experience in a technical role, with at least 2 years in a leader/managerial position.

  • Proven experience in AI and machine learning projects, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector.

  • Strong technical skills in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other relevant AI frameworks.

  • In-depth knowledge of AI and Generative AI algorithms and techniques, including NLP, computer vision, and reinforcement learning.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on innovation.
