Job Description

An employer is seeking a Sponsored Research Accountant in the Cincinnati, OH area. This individual will join the Sponsored Research team on a contract to hire basis within the Office of Research and would primarily be responsible for overseeing assigned accounts to ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions and funding agency regulations. This would include closing out grant accounts by reconciling, sampling unusual transactions for compliance, preparing final invoices, and assisting with collections on invoices that are overdue. It is critical that this person is very organized, detail oriented, and has extensive experience with invoicing and accounts payable in order to have the baseline to get started. On the grants side, this person will learn how to administer grant awards and serve as the principal source of information on grant policies and procedures.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of experience in accounting or finance

Experience with invoicing within accounting and accounts payable

Knowledge and experience with collections

Experience with Excel and PDFs Experience with grants and/or sponsored research (specifically DHHS awards)

Experience working within higher education, research hospitals, or any large research institutions

Experience with SAP, Kuali, Grants.gov or other state and federal grant systems null
