Job Overview The School of Education at the University of Cincinnati seeks one Instructor - Educator faculty position which will begin during the 2025-2026 academic year. Specifically, this position will support the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Birth - age 5 associate and bachelor's degree program which is a 100% Asynchronous Online Program. This position is a combination of teaching and program coordination. While instruction is 100% online and asynchronous, the position requires a scheduled on-campus presence on the University of Cincinnati's main campus and occasional in-person meetings in Columbus. This position will support the University of Cincinnati's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities. Primary teaching responsibilities will be to teach undergraduate courses in the ECE program consistent with program needs for expertise in the areas of Infant & Toddler Care and Education, Preschool Teaching, and Administration of Early Childhood Programs. Primary program coordination responsibilities include curriculum maintenance and development, support for adjunct faculty, and student success support. Essential Functions Teach undergraduate courses incorporating constructivist theory and Developmentally Appropriate Practices related to children birth - age 5, and/or other content consistent with candidate expertise. Use best practices in online education - e.g., RSI with students, Discussion Board protocols, microteaching using Kaltura or similar video application. Serve as liaison with UCO (UC Online Instructional Design Team) and CECH OITDL (Office of Innovative Technology and Learning Design). Support students with practicum placements and required paperwork. Participate in program service including program meetings, state and university reporting, data collection and management, and program improvement and development work. Contribute service to School of Education and/or University committees. Demonstrate a commitment to the School's Diversity Equity Inclusion & Justice framework. Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and the community. Fulfill other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Earned master's degree in early childhood education or equivalent field. Minimum 3 years teaching/leadership experience in an early childhood environment. Demonstrated success teaching online. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of and experience with current best practices in instructional strategies/methods in birth - age 5 education consistent with the ECE constructivist program curriculum and NAEYC Standards for Early Childhood Professional Preparation Programs.
