First Student Coordinator Payroll I in CINCINNATI, Ohio

Major Responsibilities

  • Entry and review of the weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payroll time data, employee maintenance, tax information, direct deposit, union dues, garnishments, new hire and terminated employee processing.

  • Coordinates with Human Resource Department personnel and/or unions on the timely and accurate updating of employee changes

  • Supports Payroll Specialists with processing payrolls for various scheduled pay dates. Detailed reconciliation and balancing.

  • Audits payroll data entry and employee status changes to ensure accuracy prior to payroll execution.

  • Assists with processing manual checks and special requests as needed.

  • Additional special projects and duties as assigned. Handles daily banking submissions, reporting payroll data on various logs.

  • Follows and documents audit processes.

  • Supports Payroll Specialists with verifications, unemployment audits and special requests.

  • Create and run payroll reports and review information for accuracy

  • Reconciliation process for W-2s.

  • Support Payroll team with customer service through telephone or e-mail inquiries which may include additional research or working with Payroll Specialist or Supervisor for resolution.

  • ADP Report Writer general reports as needed.

Minimum Education or Certifications Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate’s Degree (or equivalent) preferred

Minimum Experience or Skills Required

  • 1 year experience in Payroll with Customer Service or H.R. background

  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft products, particularly Excel and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of computerized time & attendance and payroll processing systems. Workday experience a plus, but not required.

  • Good oral and written communication skills required

  • Good customer service skills

  • Strong ability to follow instructions

  • Well organized, solid work ethic
