Job Description

An employer is Cloud Lead & Architect for a direct hire opportunity in Chennai, India. This role involves leading a technical team in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS and Azure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cloud architecture, a deep understanding of cloud services, and the ability to mentor and guide the team in technical operations and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

 Leadership & Team Management:

o Lead a team of cloud engineers and architects, providing technical direction and support for cloud-based projects.

o Drive collaboration within the team to ensure successful project execution and delivery.

o Provide mentoring and coaching to team members to foster growth and development.

o Manage workloads, delegate tasks, and oversee team performance to meet project timelines and business objectives.

 Cloud Architecture & Design:

o Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS and Azure.

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture standards and best practices.

o Ensure cloud architectures align with industry standards, security protocols, and compliance requirements.

o Optimize cloud environments to achieve high availability, performance, and cost efficiency.

 Technical Expertise & Support:

o Serve as the escalation point for Level 2 and complex cloud infrastructure issues.

o Perform hands-on cloud infrastructure deployments, including network, security, compute, and storage configuration.

o Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve AWS and Azure-related technical challenges.

o Automate infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates.

 Cloud Security & Compliance:

o Implement cloud security best practices, ensuring the proper configuration of firewalls, IAM roles, and encryption.

o Ensure that cloud solutions comply with industry standards and organizational security policies.

o Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC2.

 Collaboration & Communication:

o Work closely with stakeholders, including developers, operations, and business teams, to ensure cloud solutions meet business requirements.

o Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

o Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the development of the cloud strategy roadmap.

 Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

o Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends in AWS and Azure to drive innovation within the team.

o Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational improvements.

o Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of hands-on engineering and architectural experience with Azure & AWS (80% Azure, 20% AWS)

 Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) and Azure (VMs, Azure AD, Azure DevOps, etc.).

 2+ years in a technical leadership role or team lead capacity.

 Experience in managing cloud migrations and modernization projects

 Experience in cloud architecture (Level 2) with a deep understanding of cloud services, networking, security, and infrastructure management

 Proficiency in cloud automation and orchestration tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins).

 Excellent communication AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional)

 Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

 Relevant certifications in cloud security or DevOps are advantageous. null
