Job Description
A client in the transportation industry is looking for a Business Analyst (BA) for a Power BI Project (HR Domain Preferred). Business Analyst (BA) with experience in Power BI projects and a background in HR analytics (preferred) to support a high-priority, 9-week implementation. The BA will work closely with a Power BI Developer, gathering and refining requirements, validating data, conducting user acceptance testing (UAT), and supporting documentation efforts. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, quality assurance/testing experience, and a keen eye for detail. Familiarity with Confluence and documentation best practices is a plus.
Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Management:
o Collaborate with HR/business stakeholders to gather, document, and refine reporting requirements.
o Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories.
o Facilitate discussions to ensure alignment between stakeholders and the Power BI Developer.
Data Analysis & Validation:
o Work with the Power BI Developer to analyze and validate HR-related data sources.
o Assist in ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.
o Identify and troubleshoot data-related issues.
QA & Testing Support:
o Develop test cases and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate dashboards and reports.
o Identify defects, track issues, and collaborate with the developer for resolution.
o Ensure that dashboards meet business expectations and usability standards.
Documentation & Knowledge Management:
o Create and maintain project documentation, including requirements, test cases, and user guides.
o Document data sources, transformations, and business logic applied in Power BI reports.

Skills and Requirements
Experience in Business Analysis: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in gathering and documenting business/reporting requirements.
Power BI Knowledge: Familiarity with Power BI reports and dashboards (no development required, but ability to understand and validate reports).
QA/Testing Experience: Hands-on experience in writing test cases and performing UAT, preferably in a BI/reporting environment.
Data Analysis Skills: Ability to understand HR/business data, perform basic data validation, and identify discrepancies.
Strong Documentation Skills: Experience with Confluence or similar tools for project documentation.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams, ensuring requirements are clear and met.
Agility & Problem-Solving: Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, short-term project and resolve issues proactively. HR Analytics/HRIS Experience Understanding of HR metrics, employee data, payroll, or workforce analytics.
Exposure to Agile Methodologies Familiarity with Agile processes, Jira, or sprint-based delivery.
Previous experience supporting Power BI implementations in an enterprise setting. null
