About the Department The Division of Hematology and Oncology supports the University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC), West Chester Hospital (WCH), University of Cincinnati Cancer Center (UCCC), and the Cincinnati Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The Division comprises a BMT program, an Experimental Therapeutics program, a Hemophilia Center, a Sickle Cell Disease Center and supports the 9 clinical centers of excellence of the UC Cancer Center. Six divisional research labs provide venues for translational research studies. In addition, ample opportunities exist on campus for access to resources in immunobiology, laboratory medicine, transfusion medicine, cell mediated therapy and cancer biology at the University of Cincinnati Medical College, the Hoxworth Blood Center or the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Job Overview The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology is undergoing a major expansion and is seeking faculty candidates at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. This recruitment is part of a significant investments made under the stewardship of Dr. John C. Byrd, newly appointed Chairman of Medicine, to serve our academic mission and to achieve NCI-designation. These are clinical academic mission positions, with protected time for research, teaching, or administration. These positions are supported by dedicated administrative staff and advanced practice providers. Compensation is highly competitive with the opportunity for incentives based on clinical and/or academic productivity. Essential Functions The individuals selected will engage in patient care, clinical investigation and teaching of residents and fellows. Area of interest include, but are not limited to: Lung cancer Head and Neck Breast cancer GU Oncology Classic Hematology: thrombosis and hemostasis Sarcoma/melanoma Minimum Requirements Applicants for this faculty position must have all of the following prior to effective date of appointment: MD or DO with Board eligibility or Board certification in Hematology or Medical Oncology.
