Collins Aerospace is currently hiring for the position of Senior Buyer within our Airbus Programs team. Join us in overseeing the complete supplier management process, from purchase order placement to order delivery. You'll be responsible for implementing procurement procedures, standards, and operational plans, including handling RMAs, RTV, receiving grievances, and MRB issues. In addition, you will interact with multiple programs, departments and both domestic and international suppliers.

What We Do

Our Airbus Programs team manages suppliers for our Nacelle Manufacturing and Assembly sites. Nacelles are the outer casings or housings surrounding aircraft engines.

  • The position will be working onsite at our Chula Vista CA facility

What You Will Do

  • Oversee end-to-end supplier management, from purchase order placement to order delivery, while implementing procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including managing RMAs, RTV, receiving grievances, and MRB issues.

  • Contribute to RFP and bid package reviews, participate in supplier readiness assessments, and compile relevant data for reports to support short and long-term procurement decision-making

  • Manage supplier schedules, expedite deliveries to resolve issues like shortages and delays, ensuring compliance with contracts, assessing the need for changes, and ensuring timely delivery of quality products at the right cost.

  • Utilize procurement tools for trend analysis, risk assessment, and proactive communication of program execution risks related to supplier deliverables, as well as continuous improvement (CI) tools to analyze root causes and implement permanent fixes, thereby preventing recurring overdue deliveries.

  • Monitor price trends and manufacturing processes, implementing necessary changes to enhance the effectiveness of the procurement process, while actively contributing to compiling price proposals, financial reports, and relevant data to provide input on reasonable pricing to support informed decision-making.

  • Spearhead supplier and client relationship management initiatives, collaborating with internal departments to address production and quality challenges, and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management, facilitating collaboration, continuous improvement, and informed decision-making.

  • Frequent domestic and international travel, comprising up to 30% of work commitments when circumstances permit

  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and methodologies

  • Experience with Supply Chain, Procurement and/or Operations.

  • Experience with an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with SAP or similar systems

  • Experience with aerospace industry

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, ACE or CORE

  • Experience with Excel-Pivot Tables, Creating PowerPoint presentations

  • Proficiency in interpreting drawings and blueprints

  • Possess technical acumen to comprehend intricate manufacturing procedures

  • Demonstrated skills in project management

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Experience in process improvement methodologies

  • Proficient in delivering executive-level presentations

The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
