Starbucks senior manager, external communications and dampaigns EMEA in Chiswick, United Kingdom

The Role

We're looking for a senior manager with experience in developing and delivering campaigns across multiple channels to join our EMEA Corporate Affairs team.

The corporate affairs teams have responsibility and ownership for driving key brand narratives and bringing these to life through integrated communication campaigns across internal and external channels, for a wide range of audiences.

You will be an experienced brand communicator and play an integral role within the EMEA Corporate Affairs team. Directly reporting into the External Communications and Campaigns Lead EMEA you will drive the execution of EMEA-wide campaigns that bring the brand to life.

To deliver effectively, you will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of the evolving cultural landscape and have an active interest in cultures and markets within EMEA.

You’ll need an in-depth understanding of media relations, brand PR, digital and social channels, partner (employee) engagement and will previously have worked on the delivery of campaigns – including with third parties – that have made a measurable impact. To succeed, this partner will need to excel at partnering with agencies effectively and be as familiar with identifying and managing potential issues as they are proactive campaigns.

Crucially, you’ll be responsible for building and running EMEA digital corporate channels with the goal of strengthening the brand impact and reach within the region.

As part of the small, collaborative and highly matrixed EMEA Corporate Affairs team, this partner may be required to flex on occasion to support with other projects within the team as required, including staffing of the press office “hotline” at weekends, on rotation, and with partner (employee) events.

What you'll do:

  • Driving execution of EMEA-wide campaigns and proactive brand initiatives across the region, in collaboration with Marketing and legal teams in alignment with Global plans

  • Identifying synergies between markets and developing wide reaching content that can be leveraged to storytell the brand

  • Leveraging external agencies effectively to deliver against diverse and wide-ranging briefs

  • Driving the expansion and reach of EMEA’s digital channels, including through paid activations and own digital expertise

  • Drafting content for Starbucks Stories EMEA and LinkedIn as part of wider omni-channel amplification strategy

  • Leveraging market insight to build and maintain an ‘always on’ calendar of EMEA stories

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in media relations either in-house or in an agency environment

  • Understanding and interest in best-practice digital and social communications and engagement

  • Strategic communicator with significant experience leading proactive brand campaigns together with marketing in either an agency or a global in-house environment

  • A change agent, able to drive forward complex projects in an ambiguous and always changing environment

  • Experience in reactive/issues handling

  • Experience managing multiple agency partners / matrixed teams, including budgets

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing projects and deadlines

  • Excellent copywriter and English language capabilities (written and verbal)

  • Impeccable attention to detail and strong organisational skills

  • Natural team leader that cultivates a positive and inclusive culture, whilst driving the teams personal development programme
